The Care Guide for your outdoor Koch products:

Live well outdoors. From all-weather resin wicker to natural teak and reconstituted stone, our outdoor collection is inspired by nature and made with materials that endure the seasons.
1
Teak

Our furniture is crafted from the finest Grade-A sustainable teak. Our Natural Teak Finish with its beautiful patina, will stand the test of time and look fabulous in any outdoor space.

CARE

  • Natural Teak will have oil surfacing that resembles a watermark. These can be removed by washing gently with mild soap and a soft, damp cloth.
  • If furniture is near the ocean, rinse weekly with water to remove all salt.
  • Cracking may occur if left in a freezing environment. To prevent this, clean thoroughly per the instructions below and then store in a dry place during the winter. If storage is not available, use outdoor furniture covers.
  • As Natural Teak ages, it will take on a silvery grey patina. If you are partial to teak’s warmer tones, clean your furniture regularly and protect it with teak oil. Sand down the patina with fine-grade sandpaper, if it starts to develop.
  • If using teak oil, be sure to apply every few months to maintain the finish and quality of the wood.
  • To preserve the beauty of your outdoor furniture, protect it from the elements with furniture covers when not in use.

CLEANING

  • To clean Natural Teak, spray with a hose and use a soft bristle brush to remove any remaining dirt or debris. Dry with a soft cloth to prevent mold and mildew.
  • Be sure to follow the grain of the wood when cleaning and drying your teak.
  • For a more thorough cleaning, use a soft bristle brush with a mixture of warm water and a mild dish soap. Then rinse with water and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the natural finish.
2
All-Weather Resin

CARE

  • If furniture is near the ocean, rinse monthly with water to remove all salt.
  • Do not allow water to sit on the surface of your furniture.
  • To preserve the beauty of your outdoor furniture, protect it from the elements with furniture covers when not in use.

CLEANING

  • Blot spills immediately and wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid the use of harsh cleaners as these can damage the finish.
  • We recommend cleaning once or twice a year by hosing it down or using a soft cloth and mild soap solution.
  • Be sure to rinse off all soap residues with fresh water after cleaning.
3
Powdercoated Aluminium

Our powdercoated aluminum is designed to keep furniture looking sleek and rust-resistant.

CARE

  • Our furniture is powder coated to resist oxidation.
  • To preserve the beauty of your outdoor furniture, protect it from the elements with furniture covers when not in use.

CLEANING

  • For cleaning, use a solution of mild soap and water with a soft cloth or brush. Make sure all excess soap is rinsed off to prevent buildup.
  • Avoid the use of ceramic cleaners, abrasives, and chemicals containing acid or bleach, as these can damage the finish.
  • Powdercoated aluminum should be cleaned every 2-3 months to remove dirt and grime.
4
Reconstituted Stone

Our reconstituted stone is artfully shaped with subtle imperfections that lend the lived-in look of well-loved pieces. We love it indoors and out.

CARE

  • Hairline cracks may occur in the making of this table, resembling the look of natural, beautifully aged stone. Such cracks will not impact the table’s integrity.
  • Avoid hitting the tabletop with other objects as this can chip the surface.
  • Reconstituted stone is naturally porous and will absorb liquids if not cleaned after spills.
  • Do not place hot dishes directly on the table; used felt-back placemats or trivets to preserve the beauty of the stone.
  • Reconstituted stone will develop a beautiful, silvery grey patina over time.
  • To preserve the beauty of your outdoor furniture, protect it from the elements with furniture covers when not in use.

CLEANING

  • Blot spills immediately and wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Avoid the use of ceramic cleaners, abrasives, and chemicals containing acid or bleach, as these can damage the finish.
  • For cleaning, use mild soap and water for cleaning. Make sure all excess soap is removed to prevent staining.
  • Reconstituted stone should be cleaned on a regular basis to remove abrasive agents from its surface.

Umbrellas and Parasols

Umbrellas designed to endure homes with pets, kids, and entertaining enthusiasts – without sacrificing a stitch of style.

CARE

  • Woven from 100% solution-dyed acrylic, our Perennials® Performance and Sunbrella® Performance Fabrics are designed to repel water, as well as resist mold, mildew, fading, and staining. Our long-lasting Perennials® Performance Fabrics are easy to clean and guaranteed to resist fading for up to 3 years.
  • Perennials® Performance Fabrics pair well on any of our Upholstered frames, Indoor or Outdoor. Sunbrella® Performance Fabrics pair best on any of our Upholstered Outdoor frames.

CLEANING

  • Vacuum regularly on a low setting without the rotating beater brush. The bristled brush digs into the fibers and may damage your upholstery.
  • Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth then use a damp cloth to remove the remaining stain or any excess liquid.
  • For stubborn stains, spot clean with a natural soap, mild detergent or bleach solution. Rinse thoroughly with water and air dry.
  • Chlorine bleach will not affect the coloration of the dyed acrylic or polyester fiber – use it for stubborn stains, but try a solution of one part bleach, two parts water. (Chlorine bleach, strong chemicals or harsh detergents will eventually affect the strength of any fiber or cloth.)
  • Professional cleaning is recommended for hard-to-remove stains.
  • For removable slipcovers, wash on a gentle cycle in cold water and air dry. Do not expose to direct heat.
6
Outdoor Cushions

For the perfect sit, our outdoor cushions have plush all-weather foam. Designed to look great rain or shine, they are made with both comfort and style in mind.

CARE

  • All-weather foam is wrapped in a protective polyester layer for added durability.
  • To prolong the life of your cushions, use furniture covers when not in use.

  • Cushion covers are removable and should follow the proper care instructions.
  • Outdoor cushion inserts are designed to stand up to the elements and do not need to be machine washed. The outer polyester layer can be spot cleaned, if necessary.
  • Professional cleaning is recommended for hard-to-remove stains.
